CHIMO Crisis Services offers a number of programs designed to address the needs of women in crisis.
Stopping the Violence
The STV Program offers individual and group counselling, providing support and education to women who have experienced abuse in their intimate relationships, including physical, emotional, verbal, psychological, and/or financial abuse, sexual assault and childhood abuse. This service focuses on women and the provision of safe options, recognition and assistance to rebuild strength and take control of one’s own life.
Services are offered in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Nova House provides safe shelter, information, emotional support, practical assistance, education, and advocacy for women and their children who are fleeing violence at home. The house is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with workers speaking more than 10 different languages. Nova House is a temporary refuge where residents can obtain assistance with immediate practical concerns such as health, legal issues, housing, financial needs, schooling, child care, and transportation.
Nova House services are available in several languages including English, Cantonese and Punjabi.

Free, confidential and non-judgmental emotional support provided 9:00 am to midnight, seven days a week, by our professionally trained volunteers. Telephone crisis intervention and referral information are available. The Crisis Line also provides triage to clients of Richmond Mental Health Emergency Services.
